About me

Hey there, I’m Faizal Hasanwala. I am a Software Engineer at Microsoft. Currently, working on making Excel for Web a better product. I did my undergraduate studies at the Department of Computer Science at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee.

I spend a lot of my time hacking and creating software. I am incredibly passionate about Web Application Security. I found a Cross-Site Scripting(XSS) vulnerability, a critical client-side vulnerability in Oracle Communications and Messaging server for which Oracle credited me with CVE-2018-2936.

I spend lots of sleepless nights playing CTFs(?) as gr33n5h4d0w with the team InfoSecIITR, a campus group of security enthusiastic minds. As a member of InfoSecIITR, we promote security culture on our campus and host yearly CTFs.

I enjoy learning new technologies and develop software using them. I love to learn new stuff about Computer Networks and to experiment with them. Check out my projects on GitHub.

When I am not creating or breaking things, I spend my time watching Sci-Fi films or TV series.
